Our People
Our people are crucial to us as an organisation, and it is important that we ensure colleagues know they are valued and appreciated and that they are trusted to perform their critical roles within the organisation.
We do this in a number of ways, including:
- our pay and reward package
- providing a flexible working environment
- providing professional development opportunities
- ensuring voices are heard with the Employee Forum
- prioritising improvements in ways of working with the Future of Work programme
Accessibility and inclusivity:
Accessibility and inclusivity are so important for DBS, both for our colleagues and our customers. We are determined to improve the diversity of our workforce and the inclusiveness of our operations and the services we provide.
To increase accessibility and inclusivity for colleagues at DBS we:
- created a dedicated Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) team
- introduced a board apprentice scheme for people from diverse backgrounds
- launched an accessibility policy for communications, systems, and processes
- will step up our programme of work to recruit staff from a wider range of backgrounds
- will support current staff to develop their careers, with a particular focus on underrepresented groups.
To increase accessibility and inclusivity for DBS customers we:
- will develop even more accessible and inclusive procedures and systems to benefit our customers
- plan to develop a process to aid customers with additional needs to interact with us
